Modern society, tale of decadence and dehumanisation

Modern society

Living in a world of so many questions, but very few answers. A world where the gospel of peace is spreading enormously, but a time when there is tribal rivalry, nation fighting against nation, and time of domestic warfare. Is there someone who cares for humanity at a time as this?

Humanity has mastered the art of making a living but not life. Many are obsessed with adding years to life, but not life to years. Living in oppression, depression, anxiety, and distress only to add more years to that. There is no love. Men have managed to go to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet their neighbor. We have conquered the outer space, but not the inner space. A world with many tall buildings, yet men with short tempers. Where men are able to build skyscrapers, yet failing to control their tempers and desires. A world of fancy houses, but yet disintegrated and broken homes, having two incomes, and the highest rate of divorce. A society of many childless parents yet there are parentless children, abortions and baby dumping. Moving from one spouse to another has become a norm, and people are changing spouses like annual calendars. The society has grown to have many preachers, of different perspectives and religions, yet a time where morale degradation and spiritual decadence and deformation has increased. Days of one night stand, pills that do everything and overweight bodies.

Is there someone who care for humanity at a time like this? A time where nation rises against nation. When they say peace, then sudden destruction comes. A world of many peace keeping organizations, yet billions of dollars are pledged for war. After many concessions and peace treaties have been signed, chaos has increased. A time when recently this month of May, Israel's forces fire against Palestinian worshippers at AL-AQSA MOSQUE. Human massacre in Myanmar which has increased intensity. Terrorists killing people in Mozambique and SARS killing in Nigeria. We have done larger things, but not better things. Cleaning the polluted atmosphere, but left our polluted souls. Human beings killing fellow men. Bethren who has bewitched us? The greatest battle in modern society is no longer between good and evil, but religion against religion. Many are focusing on spreading their dogmatic ideas at the expense of other people's lives. We have multiplied our possessions, and reduced our values. We don't have Ubuntu/Unhu/humanity in us. We should realise that 'I am because we are.'

We talk too much, rarely listen, love seldom and hate too often. Write more, learn less, and plan more but accomplish less. Made to have more acquaintances but less friends. We have learnt how to ascend to greater heights by destroying the weak, we have learnt how to make a living by destroying life. We have learnt computer programming and coding to high depth and have mastered how operations can be done in this modernised world, but have failed to program our minds to think straight and without reproach. As if conquering, yet being conquered. Guard the avenues of your mind. Anyone who is able to tame his mind into certain corridors of thinking, which are not harmful to the society, is a blessing to the world, but these are rare people, due to the selfish nature of man. There is nothing, except the selfish heart of man, that lives to itself. No bird that cleaves the air, no animal that moves upon the ground, but ministers to some other life. There is no leaf of the forest, or lowly blade of grass, but it has its ministry. The sun sheds its light to gladden a thousand worlds. The ocean, itself the source of all our springs and fountains, receives the streams from every land, but takes to give. The mists ascending from its bosom fall in showers to water the earth, that it may bring forth and bud. Selfishness is the reason men are the leading cause of climate change and pollution, and are mainly egocentric and pushing the message of individualism, through capitalism and elimination of fellow men.

If you collect 50 black ants and 50 red ants, put them together in a glass jar, nothing will happen, but if you shake the jar violently & leave it on the table, the ants will start killing each other. The Red ants believe that the black ants are the enemy while the black ants believe that the red ants are the enemy. However, the real enemy is the person who shook the jar.

The same in our modern society, we are not addressing the problem, which shook the jar. Before we fight each other, we must first ask ourselves, who shook the jar? Nuclear weapons and diseases are not the weapons for mass destruction. There is something which is a weapon of mass destruction and often ignored. If we deal with this, we are dealing with the one who shook the jar, and the problems in the whole world can be dealt with. HATRED is a weapon of mass destruction. And the solution to this is love. Without love there is no tolerance, no peace, no care for the environment and there is selfishness.

Is there someone who cares for humanity? Oh yes there is someone who cares. Anyone who transforms their thinking and renews their mind to love, cares for humanity. There is someone who cares for the oppressed, depressed and distressed. Someone who cares for the hopeless, sick, and dying. Someone who loves and cares can change the world. And you can be the first one as you are reading, show love to all humanity regardless of gender, tribe, ethnicity, and nation. Yes, you care! I know you care!
